Cosmetics
Alongside skin cancer medicine and the treatment of general skin conditions, our doctors provide cosmetic skin treatments. Every treatment starts with a consultation to work out what is appropriate for your skin.
How a cosmetic appointment works
1. Consultation first
Every cosmetic treatment begins with a consultation. Your doctor examines your skin, discusses what you would like to address, and explains which options are and are not appropriate for you.
2. A doctor-led decision
Newcastle Skin Medical Centre is a medical practice. Cosmetic treatments are assessed by doctors who also treat medical and surgical skin conditions, so a skin concern is examined clinically before anything cosmetic is considered.
3. A plan that suits you
If a treatment is suitable, your doctor will explain what it involves, what recovery time to expect, and what it will cost before you decide whether to go ahead.
Cosmetic laser and light treatments
Most of the cosmetic treatments offered at the practice are laser and broadband light based, including laser resurfacing for sun-damaged skin, treatments for acne and acne scarring, treatment around the eyes, pigmentation and redness, and tattoo removal.
